Football (Women)

Women’s football at RVC is a friendly club that welcomes all abilities. Our current players range from girls who joined having never played before, to girls who played at club and county level. In the past couple of years, we have transitioned from a more social club to winning the league undefeated.

We train on Wednesday’s from 2:30-4:30pm at the Hawkshead campus. While our training sessions are fun and relaxed, they are also focussed on improving and developing as a team, so we are able to play competitively in our Sunday matches.

We are very lucky to have an excellent football coach who has helped our more inexperienced players gain a high level of skill, confidence and understanding of the game.

Many of our members are very socially active within the university and we attend socials as a team every Wednesday evening with other RVC clubs, sports teams and other London universities. As well as a great way to keep fit, football can be a great way to meet new people too. Every year we go on tour to a surprise location organised by our tour secretaries. Previous years have included visits to Malta and Budapest!

Everyone is welcome at training sessions, so please feel free to just turn up or let Lillith Fleur Walton (lwalton4@rvc.ac.uk) or Gemma Petty (gpetty4@rvc.ac.uk) know beforehand. See you on the pitch!
