IVSA Budapest Exchange 2016!

Budapest to London After much anticipation and driving around to avoid the ludicrous pricings of Luton airport pick up zone the RVC minibus took aboard the 6 Hungarian exchange delegates.  After arriving at the RVC’s Hawkshead campus the 16 of us bonded quickly over a champagne (**cava**) reception and traditional fish and chips (the brave even had a taste of mushy peas.)  The next day we headed over to the RVC’s Camden campus, and after a wander around the vibrant streets of Camden and its markets it was time to check into the RVC Global Health Society’s ‘Disaster’ symposium.  IVSA...

Did you know there are free condoms available upon request via the welfare officer? Simply pop Hatti ( an email and an anonymous drop off can be arranged. Do you know where your local sexual health clinic is? Regular testing for HIV and STIs is essential for good sexual health. The NHS recommends anyone under 25 who is sexually active should be screened for chlamydia annually, and on change of sexual partner. In January 2015 VetFutures surveyed veterinary students and found 38.7% had experienced suicidal thoughts. A further study conducted by NUS in November 2015 found that 78% of students experienced a mental health problem within the past year, with anxiety and depression being high on the list.  As I said in my manifesto, this year mental health will feature high on my list of priorities. During our wellbeing week (17th-23rd October 2016) we launched our first mental health campaign, #itsOK.
